Spotlight on Rag Picker Empowerment
Mumbai, In a heartfelt initiative led by Aasra Welfare Association, the city turned its attention to an often-overlooked workforce: Mumbai’s rag pickers. The day-long event aimed to honor their contributions to the city’s cleanliness and promote awareness around their daily challenges.
Through workshops, community interactions, and storytelling sessions, rag pickers were given a platform to share their experiences. The initiative not only highlighted the environmental impact of their work but also called for greater dignity, inclusion, and support for these unsung heroes who help keep Mumbai clean, one recyclable at a time.
